How to Instantly Convert Crypto on Midas
Swap one cryptocurrency for another in seconds with a simple interface. No order book, no complexity.
Convert swaps one asset for another at a quoted rate, with no order book and no order type to choose. It is the simplest route between two assets and rarely the cheapest — the spread inside the quote is what you pay for skipping the book. Use it for the jobs it suits: tidying dust, moving between stablecoins, or taking a small position without opening a trading screen. For anything large, the spot book will almost always give you a better price for the same trade.
Before you start
- A balance in the asset you are converting from, above the pair minimum.
Open the Convert Screen
Navigate to Products > Convert from the main menu, or use the quick-access tile on the home dashboard. The convert interface has a simple 'From' and 'To' layout.
Select Your Assets
In the 'From' field, select the asset you want to convert (e.g., BTC). In the 'To' field, select the asset you want to receive (e.g., USDT). You can tap the swap arrow to reverse the direction.
Enter the Amount
Type the amount to convert. The estimated output amount updates in real time based on the current conversion rate. A 0.10% conversion fee is taken out of the asset you receive, and the amount shown is the amount that lands.
Review and Execute
A binding quote is displayed for 30 seconds showing the exact rate and output amount. Tap 'Convert' within this window to execute at the shown rate. If the quote expires, a new one is automatically generated. The converted assets appear in your Spot wallet instantly.
If something goes wrong
- The quote expired.
- Quotes hold briefly in a moving market. Request a new one instead of retrying the old.
- The pair is unavailable.
- Not every combination is supported directly. Convert via a major asset, or trade the pair on spot if it exists there.
- The amount is below the minimum.
- Each pair has a floor, shown on the convert screen. Dust below it can sometimes be swept through a dedicated small-balance conversion instead.
- The converted asset did not appear where you expected.
- Convert credits the wallet it drew from unless the screen says otherwise. Check that wallet before assuming the trade failed.

- Is there a fee?
- Convert prices its fee inside the rate rather than showing it separately. The fee schedule sets out the applicable rate.
- How fast is it?
- Immediate — it executes against the quote rather than resting on a book.
- Can a conversion be reversed?
- Only by converting back, at whatever rate applies then.
- Does convert use the order book?
- No. It executes against a quote, which is why it fills instantly and why the price carries a spread.
- Is convert available for every asset?
- For the pairs listed on the screen. Unsupported combinations can be done in two hops through a major asset.
- Can I convert into a fiat currency?
- Convert works between crypto assets. Fiat is handled by the sell flow in the fiat gateway, which quotes and pays out separately.
- Is there a daily limit on conversions?
- Limits where they apply are shown on the screen and follow your verification tier rather than the pair.
