How to Open Your First Futures Position
Trade perpetual futures contracts on Midas with leverage. Learn to go long or short on crypto assets.
Transfer Funds to Your Futures Wallet
Navigate to Wallets > Transfer and move USDT from your Spot wallet to your Futures wallet. Futures trading uses a separate margin balance. You can also use the quick transfer option directly from the Futures trading screen.
Open the Futures Trading Screen
Navigate to the Futures tab from the bottom navigation. Select a perpetual contract such as BTCUSDT Perpetual. The interface shows the futures order book, your margin balance, position information, and leverage controls.
Set Your Leverage
Tap the leverage indicator (e.g., '20x') to open the leverage adjustment panel. Use the slider to set your desired leverage from 1x to 125x. Higher leverage amplifies both profits and losses. Beginners should start with 5x or lower to manage risk.
Choose Long or Short
Select 'Long' (Buy/Open Long) if you expect the price to go up. Select 'Short' (Sell/Open Short) if you expect the price to go down. This is a key advantage of futures: you can profit from falling prices by going short.
Place Your Order
Choose your order type (Market or Limit), enter the order size, and review the estimated liquidation price. The liquidation price is the level at which your position will be automatically closed to prevent further losses. Tap 'Open Long' or 'Open Short' to confirm.
Monitor Your Position
Your open position appears in the Positions tab below the chart. You can see your entry price, mark price, unrealized P&L, margin, and liquidation price in real time. Use the 'Close' button to exit your position, or set Take-Profit and Stop-Loss orders for automated risk management.
Risk Disclaimer
