How to Choose the Right Blockchain Network for Transfers
Compare fees, speed, and compatibility across 14 supported networks to find the best option for your deposit or withdrawal.
View Available Networks
When depositing or withdrawing, after selecting your asset, the network selection screen lists all supported chains. For example, USDT is available on Ethereum, Tron, Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, Solana, and more. Each network shows its name, estimated fee, and confirmation time.
Compare Fees
Network fees vary significantly. Ethereum (ERC-20) typically has the highest fees but the broadest compatibility. Tron (TRC-20) and Solana offer very low fees. Layer 2 networks like Arbitrum and Base provide Ethereum compatibility with much lower costs. Midas displays the estimated network fee before you confirm.
Consider Speed
Confirmation speed varies: Solana and Tron typically confirm within seconds, Polygon and Arbitrum within minutes, while Bitcoin may take 20-40 minutes and Ethereum 3-5 minutes. If time is critical, choose a faster network.
Verify Compatibility
The most important rule: the sending and receiving platforms must support the same network for the same token. If you are sending USDT to another exchange, verify that the destination supports the network you select. Sending tokens on an unsupported network results in irreversible loss.
Common Recommendations
For USDT transfers between exchanges, Tron (TRC-20) offers the best combination of low fees and speed. For ETH and ERC-20 tokens, Arbitrum or Base provide cost savings while maintaining Ethereum ecosystem compatibility. For Bitcoin, there is only one network option (Bitcoin mainnet).
