How to Join a Trading Competition
Compete with other traders for prizes in Midas trading competitions. Test your skills in time-limited contests.
Competitions rank participants on a defined metric over a fixed period, with prizes for the top of the table. The rules decide everything β which products count, whether ranking is by return or volume, and what disqualifies an entry. Read them before trading, because a strategy that ranks well under one metric can be irrelevant under another. The rules reward a specific behaviour, and reading them tells you whether that behaviour is one you were going to exhibit anyway. If it is not, the competition is an invitation to trade differently, which is the expensive way to enter.
Before you start
- Registration before the competition starts. Late entry is usually not allowed.
- Eligibility for your region and verification tier.
Browse Available Competitions
Navigate to the Competitions section from the main menu. You will see a list of current, upcoming, and past competitions. Each shows the prize pool, competition type (P&L, volume, etc.), duration, eligible trading pairs, and entry requirements.
Check Eligibility and Register
Tap a competition to view full details. Some competitions require KYC verification, a minimum deposit, or a specific trading pair. If you meet the requirements, tap 'Join Competition' to register. Registration may close before the competition starts.
Understand the Rules
Read the competition rules carefully. Competitions are typically ranked by: percentage P&L (return on investment), absolute P&L (total profit), or trading volume. Rules specify eligible pairs, minimum trade sizes, and any disqualification criteria.
Trade During the Competition Period
Once the competition starts, trade as you normally would on the eligible pairs. Your performance is tracked automatically. Focus on your strategy rather than over-trading, as risk management remains crucial even in competitions.
Track Results and Prizes
Monitor the live leaderboard during the competition. After it ends, final rankings are calculated and prizes are distributed to your account. Check Competitions > My Competitions for your participation history and any winnings.
If something goes wrong
- Your trades are not counting.
- Only the products and the account named in the rules count. Trading elsewhere on the platform does not register.
- You registered but do not appear on the leaderboard.
- Most boards list ranked participants only once they meet a minimum. Trading activity brings you onto it.
- You cannot register.
- Registration windows close before the competition starts, and some competitions are limited by region or tier. The eligibility line on the competition page states which applies.
Frequently asked questions
- Does entering cost anything?
- Entry is normally free; ordinary trading fees still apply to the trades you make.
- Can I be disqualified?
- Yes β wash trading and multiple-account entries are the usual grounds, and they are checked.
- Is a competition a reason to trade differently?
- Trading larger or riskier to climb a leaderboard is how people lose more than the prize is worth.
- Does a competition affect my ordinary fees or positions?
- No. You trade as usual; the competition only observes the metric it ranks on.
- Can I withdraw funds during a competition?
- Unless the rules say otherwise, yes β though it may affect a metric based on balance or return.
