Before you start
- A government-issued photo ID that has not expired: passport, national ID card or driver's licence.
- A device with a camera for the liveness selfie. A phone is easier than a laptop here.

If something goes wrong
- The document photo keeps being rejected.
- Glare is the usual cause. Lay the document flat, turn off the flash, and let daylight do the work rather than a ceiling lamp directly overhead. Make sure all four corners are inside the frame and nothing covers the machine-readable strip.

- Automated checks return in minutes; anything longer means it went to manual review, which can take up to 24 hours. You will get a push notification and an email either way, so there is no need to restart the flow — restarting can put you back in the queue.
- Your name changed and the ID does not match the account.
- Update the name on the profile first so it matches the document, then submit. Submitting a document in a different name to the account is the one rejection that automated review cannot resolve.
